What: The Summer Institute at Wallenberg Hall: Designing Learning Spaces

During this two-day workshop, participants will gain experience in applying learning and design principles to creating learning spaces for a variety of settings. Participants will work in teams to prototype learning spaces, learn from case studies in the experimental interactive classrooms of Stanford’s Wallenberg Hall and gain experience creating assessment and evaluation tools. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring photos, case studies, and other materials from their home institution to share and workshop with our community.

At the end of the session, participants will take away a greater understanding of how pedagogy, design, and technology can intersect to provide an optimal learning experience.

Who Should Participate: Faculty, administrators, and learning technologists that are engaged in designing, renovating or reinvigorating learning spaces on their campuses.building . Others that might be interested include graduate students, secondary school educators, engineers, architects, or corporate researchers interested in better workspaces.

When: Session 1 August 13-14, 2007; Session 2 August 16-17 2007. Sessions 1 and 2 will cover similar material.
